Established in 2006, Caravan of Mercy is an international aid and development charity which aims to alleviate poverty and human suffering around the world. Encouraged by our Islamic faith and directed by our ethics, we strive to support and directly assist millions around the world.

We hope to fulfil our ambitions by:

  1. Providing clean & safe water & sanitation facilities by installing hand pumps, tube wells & boreholes.
  2. Building & reconstructing mosques, education centres & sponsoring their day to day running maintenance.
  3. Sponsoring orphans & widows, ensuring their physical & spiritual well-being.
  4. Provide relief & funds towards reconstruction of homes & temporary shelters.
  5. Initiating self sustaining projects to help the poor & needy to break out of the cycle of dependency.
  6. Delivering basic food & shelter provisions for those affected by conflict & war.

The work carried out by Caravan of Mercy is done under the supervision of scholars who ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of the charity.

Donations are handled and allocated stringently so as to ensure Zakah, Sadaqah and other specified funds are spent correctly.

What do we do?
Established in 2006, Caravan of Mercy is an international aid and development charity which aims to alleviate poverty and human suffering around the world. We strive to support and directly assist the poor and needy around the world. We hope to fulfil our ambitions by:
  1. Providing clean and safe water and sanitation facilities by installing hand pumps, tube wells and bore holes;
  2. Building and reconstructing community/education centres and mosques, and sponsoring their day to day running and maintenance;
  3. Sponsoring orphans and widows to provide for their physical and spiritual well-being;
  4. Initiating Self Sustaining Projects (SSP) to help the poor and needy break out of the cycle of dependency;
  5. Providing emergency relief to those struck by disasters, like floods, war and famine.
How do we operate?
The humanitarian work carried out by Caravan of Mercy is performed under the supervision of scholars (Ulama) who ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of the charity. Donations are managed and allocated stringently to ensure Zakah, Sadaqah, Lillah and other specified funds are spent in line with the rules set out for each of those categories of charity.
Who pays for our admin costs?
Since the charity’s inception in 2006, not a single penny has ever been deducted for fundraising or administration costs.
All the charity’s operational costs are covered by:
• Lillah donations specified for administration.
• Tax reclaimed using the UK government’s GiftAid scheme is allocated to the charity’s administration fund.
Note: Surplus GiftAid funds are allocated to the charity’s relief projects.

Caravan of Mercy do not take anything from your donations so we use GiftAid to cover our rent, bills and administration costs etc.
GiftAid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, which means your donations will be worth 25% more to us at no extra cost to you. If you GiftAid your donations, Caravan of Mercy can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate to us. You can use your GiftAid with as many charities as you like.
